What is a side hustle?

For people who have a primary job where they earn an income, a side hustle is an entrepreneurial activity where the individual sells a product or service for additional income. Some people may say that a side hustle is a part-time job, which it can be, but I personally feel that most side hustles are activities that eventually to becoming self-employed.

Oftentimes, the side hustle involves using one’s area of expertise or is a way for people to explore different areas of interest to earn additional money.

Who can start a Cricut side hustle?

Anyone can start a side hustle. All you need is an idea, a smartphone, tablet, iPad, or laptop/computer to conduct research and then you will later need income to invest in whatever side hustle you decide to pursue.

Is Cricut a good side hustle?

Now to answer the question regarding if Cricut is a good side hustle.

My immediate answer to that is, it depends.

As with any side hustle, you have to invest time, effort, and money. The type of side hustle you pursue determines how much time, effort, and money you will use.

Cricut side hustle: vinyl decals

I personally think that selling vinyl decals can be a great Cricut side hustle.

All you need to do is buy a variety of vinyl, transfer tape, bubble envelopes, a scale, and a printer/ink or rollo machine, create mockups, and market your products on social media, Etsy, or your own website.

I think this Cricut side hustle can be great because your expenses are super low and you still get to use your Cricut machine.

You can sell predetermined designs (think flowers), allow customers to submit their own designs, or allow them to edit a design that you offer (think personalized monograms).

Cricuct side hustle: shirts

You could also start a Cricut side hustle selling shirts.

All you need are designs, HTV, a heat press or Cricut Easypress, and shirts.

Shirts are a very popular item to sell and the design options are endless. You can start by selling only 1-2 color options for shirts and buy a few quantities of each shirt size.

If you’re good at designing, you could also outsource the creation of your shirts to Printful. With Printful, you create shirt mockups and upload them to your website and link your website to Printful. When someone buys a shirt on your website, Printful will make and ship the shirt. Printful will take a percentage of the sales and you keep the rest. This is a good way to passively earn income.
