If you have a Cricut business and sell physical products, you likely ship some of your products or are looking to ship your products. When I first started selling things that I made with my Cricut, I didn’t really know how to package my items. This post will outline some Cricut business packaging ideas and supplies for your Cricut business.
While you may not need everything I have listed below, these items will give you ideas on how to elevate your packaging and shipping process to gain repeat customers and create a unique experience for them. Below are some of the products I use to package and ship things I make with my Cricut machine.

Scale
When selling physical products, you most definitely need a scale to weigh what you are shipping. Having a scale at home has many benefits including skipping the post office. I have this scale that I got from Amazon and it has served me very well. This scale can weigh up to 50 pounds. Now that I have my scale, I can’t imagine running my Cricut business without it.
Shipping Labels
Shipping labels go hand in hand with a scale. No matter if you sell on Etsy, Shopify or some other e-commerce website, being able to weigh your package and then print shipping labels is one of the easiest parts of the entire packaging process. You will have to pay your e-commerce provider for the shipping label (the actual part with the customer’s name and address and your business name and address) to ship your items.
Printer/Ink
You will obviously need a printer and ink to print your shipping labels and order receipt/invoice for your orders. There are many different printer options and I suggest you spend a little time looking for one that works best for you and your Cricut business. I actually don’t love my current printer but it gets the job done. I will be searching for a new printer in the next couple of months.
Boxes/Bubble/Poly Mailers
These items are one of the most important choices you will make in shipping your items to customers. The quality of your outer packaging will somewhat determine how it will arrive to customers.
If you are shipping large items or fragile items I recommend using boxes and using packing peanuts or bubble wrap to securely wrap and package your items. If you are using small items, tshirts, socks, face masks, paper cutouts, etc. I recommend using bubble or poly mailers. I mostly ship items in bubble mailers, but poly mailers and boxes may be necessary for you based on the types of items you ship.
Because the main color in my brand is hot pink, I bought poly mailers in the same color to sync with my Cricut business and to create brand recognition with my customers.
Bubble Wrap/Packing Peanuts
Bubble wrap and packing peanuts are very important if you are shipping glass, certain types of drinkware, wood products and things that could break in the shipping process. We don’t know how our packages are handled in the shipping process so it’s our job as the business owner to make sure that we do everything we can to package our items carefully so that they arrive safely. Receiving broken items in the mail is a surefire way to get customers to leave negative feedback on your products and your shop. So don’t skip out on buying bubble wrap, packing peanuts and you may want to get some fragile stickers to inform the shipping handlers to handle your package carefully.
Muslin Drawstring Bags
Muslin drawstring bags are great for packaging small items. You can package things such as candy, marbles, and other trinkets to add to your product. Another advantage of these bags is that you can use your Cricut machine and EasyPress or heat press to put designs, cute sayings, or your logo on these bags.
Business Cards/Thank You Cards
One way to easily market your brand and gain repeat customers is to put business cards or thank you cards in the packaging. On both of these cards you want to put your contact info and your social media info also. If you use a thank you card, write a sincere message that will invoke your customer to want to buy again and recommend you to their friends and family. You can also put a coupon code on your thank you cards.
Gift Tags
Gift tags are perfect to add a special touch to packaging your Cricut items. One great thing about using gift tags in your packaging is that you can make these with your Cricut machine. Using gift tags also makes your items look like gifts and gives the customer an experience when opening your package.
Twine
If you have items that you want to put gift tags on or if you wrap your product with wrapping paper, adding a touch of twine to the product will give it a “gift appeal”. Imagine how your customers will feel when they open their purchase.
Stickers with Logo
Buying stickers with your logo on them will make your customers aware of your brand. The more your customers are exposed to your logo and brand, the more likely they are to become a repeat customer. You can put the stickers inside your package or on the outside box or bubble/poly mailer. If you put the sticker on the outside, this allows everyone who sees the package to be exposed to your brand and they may even look up your company to see what you sell.
Personalized Rubber Stamp
Rubber stamps with your logo are another way to expose customers to your brand. You can find several online stores that make and sell these stamps.
Packing Tape
Packing tape is obviously needed to pack boxes that you will ship your items in.
Kraft Paper Rolls
If you don’t have bubble wrap or packing peanuts, in some cases kraft paper can be a good alternative. This paper is good for things that don’t break easily and for keeping items from moving around in the box.
Wrapping Paper/Tissue Wrap
Wrapping an item in wrapping paper makes it look like a gift and adding gift tissue wrap to packages also elevates the overall package.
Although your actual product plays a huge part in first impressions on your customers, don’t forget that your packaging and shipping also play a part. When your packaging creates an experience and has extra cute things to elevate the overall package, customers are likely to shop with you again and recommend you to their family and friends.
So, you may have noticed a common theme in the materials listed above and that was to make the opening process of your product an experience. You’ve received products before that come in dull packaging and you have also received products that have come in over-the-top packaging. I’m not telling you to be dull and I’m not telling you to be over-the-top either when it comes to packaging your products, but I am telling you to put careful thought into your packaging because your customers will notice.
