Naming your Cricut business will be one of the foundational things you do for your business. A business name can be fun, cool, quirky or clever, but most importantly your business name should be one that resonates with your customers and one that they remember.
When considering a name for your Cricut business, there are many things to think about which I provide more detail below.

How to name your Cricut business
Use a combination of your name or family members name
You may have family members who are near and dear to you that you could name your Cricut business after. Or you may have family members who are now deceased and you would like to honor them with your Cricut business. Either way, including a personal name in your business name can make your business unique and stand out.
Use your initials
Using your initials is another way to make your business name unique without revealing your full name. Using your initials in your Cricut business name could lead to a cool logo which could include a monogram.
Use your city or state name
One way to differentiate your business name from similar ones that may exist is to include your city or state name.
Use a business name generator
A business name generator is an online tool that allows you to put in keywords and it spits out potential business names. Some business name generator tools that are available include:
What you should do before determining a Cricut business name
Make sure the domain name is available
Use GoDaddy.com to be sure that the website domain is available for the potential Cricut business name that you’re considering.
Research your business name
In addition to looking up the potential domain name for a website, you should also do some additional research on Google, Etsy, and Shopify. I would first start my research on Google to see what pops up.
A quick tip when searching for specific things on Google, add quotation marks around specific words you’re looking for to get more accurate results. Check out this article on Google search tricks.
Search the Secretary of State website
For any legitimate business, you have to register your business at the Secretary of State website. You can search each state’s business database to see if your potential business name is available or if it has already been taken. Use the National Association of Secretaries of State website to access the business database for your state.
A cringe-worthy process would be to register your Cricut business in your state, buy the domain name and then find out that someone else already has social media accounts set up with your business name.
To avoid this happening to you, be sure to do a thorough search on the various social media accounts you plan to use to make sure your business name is available before buying your website domain and registering your business through the Secretary of State website.
Choose a name that withstands time
Trends come and go and you definitely don’t want to name your business something that’s trending now and forgotten in a few years. Think of clever names that can withstand the test of time.
Don’t be too specific
There’s a time and place for being super specific and when it comes to naming your Cricut business you shouldn’t get too specific to limit your options. For example, if you name your business “Jazzy’s Tshirts”, this is too specific and doesn’t allow you to expand into offering additional products.
Now of course Jazzy can still sell additional products, but upon hearing her business name, customers may think she only sells tshirts.
Don’t include trademarked words or phrases
Please be sure to not include trademarked words or phrases in your Cricut business name. You can use the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website to search for trademarked words and phrases that you won’t be able to use.
With all of that said, it may definitely take some time to come up with a business name, but I don’t think determining a business name should take an extensive amount of time. Dedicate one week to coming up with a business name. Ask your friends and family to assist also!

Some additional things to keep in mind when naming your Cricut business include:
Be descriptive
Take a few minutes to think of some keywords that can give you inspiration for your Cricut business name. If you’re starting a tshirt line as a Cricut business, consider thinking of terms such as “designs” “apparel” “swag” “clothing boutique” “clothier”.
Reflect your mission and values
When naming your Cricut business, you can consider words and terms that reflect your mission and values or you can create a mission or vision statement.
Resonates with potential customers
Be sure that the name of your Cricut business resonates with potential customers.
Be simple
Don’t get super long or complex with your business name. It’s best to go with something simple.
Be fun, clever or unique
In addition to choosing a simple business name, you can also choose a name that is fun, clever or unique.
