What is Canva
Canva is a graphic design software that is designed for people who are not graphic designers. Canva allows you to create everything from social media posts to printables for your kids. What I especially love about Canva is that it is user-friendly.
How much Canva costs
There are 2 versions of Canva, a free version and a pro version. With the free version of Canva, you can get a lot done like making social media posts, business cards, videos and so much more. Obviously with the free version, there are limitations. There are certain templates, photos and graphics that are only available to Pro users of Canva. The Pro version costs about $13 per month.
Canva File Types
With Canva you can download your files as PNG, JPG, PDF, MP4 Video, GIF and Powerpoint. With Canva Pro you get the benefit of downloading Svg files.
Why use Canva
Canva is for everyone
As stated before, you don’t need to be a graphic designer to use Canva. If you’re a Cricut business owner, sell your Cricut crafts as a hobby, a school teacher, a youth leader at church, a blogger, or whatever your occupation, you can benefit from using Canva.
Design on the go with the Canva App
Another thing that I love about Canva is that there is an app that allows you to design on your phone. The Canva app allows you to access and edit the same files that you created on your desktop. You can also start new designs on the Canva app. This is especially useful when you need to create a social media post on the fly and you’re not at your computer.
Tons of design templates
There are thousands of design templates in Canva for you to use and give you an idea on how to make your design visually appealing. There are templates for social media, presentations, worksheets, tshirts, resumès and so much more.
If you have a design that you’re working on and need to share it with someone else for them to edit or get their feedback, you have the ability to do that in Canva. This is especially helpful if you have a small team of workers and you need everyone’s input on a design.
Create brand consistency
Canva for me is a hub that allows me to keep my branding on my blog and business consistent. I created a brand guideline for my business that includes my business colors, fonts and logos and this document allows me to readily have this information on hand. For any graphics or content that I create, it all has a consistent look thanks to Canva.
Ways to market your Cricut business
There are several graphics in Canva that you can use to market your Cricut business.
Social Media posts
Canva has template designs for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Tumbler that allow you to connect and engage with your followers. These templates aren’t just for static graphics but are also for videos, stories and other animated graphics.
Coupons
Coupons are a perfect way to get customers to purchase from your Cricut business again and to entice new customers. Making coupon flyers in Canva is super easy and you can print and package these with your Cricut orders.
Business Cards
As a small business owner you will need business cards as you network with other business owners and as you come across potential customers that you meet in Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. Canva allows you to design your business cards and order them through Canva. If you want to design your business cards in Canva and order them from somewhere else such as Vistaprint, you can download the png or jpg files of your business card and upload them to Vistaprint.
Thank you cards
Thank you cards are a great way to show your customers how much you appreciate them.
Flyers
Flyers are a great way to promote your business. In today’s world, flyers can be printed and put at local businesses and they can also be virtual and sent via email, shared on social media, etc.
Infographics
Infographics are perfect for relaying information in a short concise way. Infographics would be perfect in your Cricut business for outlining materials used in your products, promoting upcoming sales, sharing tips with your followers, or just providing more information about you and your business.
Planners
If you need a planner to help you stay organized in your Cricut business you can create one in Canva. Canva has pre-made planner templates and you can also use the current templates to get ideas for making your own planner.
